The annual membership card has a fee of € 50,00.
People living outside Rome shall add € 30,00 as a money deposit for possibile mailing expenses (books, photocopies); the remainder will be returned at the expiration date.
The amount can be paid:
– by cash;
– by credit card or automatic debit card;
– by check;
– by bank transfer in the name of: Centro Studi Americani, Via Michelangelo Caetani 32, 00186 ROMA – DEUTSCHE BANK, Codice IBAN: IT22 U031 0403 2020 0000 0030 036.
Library members are allowed to use all the bibliographic resources of the Library (print and electronic), make photocopies (in compliance with the copyright law), borrow CSA Library books, ask for books or articles through the ILL service (please note that this is a charged service: the fee for each book is € 30,00 ; the fee for each journal or book article is € 15,00).
Visiting scholars are eligible for three-month membership. This card has a fee of € 30,00 and allows to use all the in-house facilities except the ILL and Loan services.
Students, PhD candidates, Postdoctoral researchers of the affiliated Universities can register free of charge. However, if living outside Rome, they have to pay the deposit of € 30,00.
To complete the registration one has to fill in the registration form, sign up the Library rules, show a valid identity card / passport / driving license.
Students from the affiliated universities are also requested to show a valid university card.
Monday to Thursday: from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Friday: from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The Library is not open shelves. So, books and journals have to be requested using the request forms. Up to three items can be asked at one time.
Circulation desk hours:
Monday to Thursday: 10:00 am, 11:00 am, 12:00 am, 3:00 pm , 4:00 pm
Friday: 10:00 am, 11:00 am, 12:00 am
Members may borrow up to two books at one time.
Reference materials, journals, theses, Interlibrary Loan books and rare books are not for loan. Borrowing time is 30 days, with a maximum renewable time of 15 days, depending on current reservations. Library members (in Rome and outside Rome) can ask for books by mail, fax, email (not by phone).
If returned by mail, books must be returned by registered mail.
Returning books overdue
For returning books late we charge € 0,25 per title per day.
Readers must comply with copyright law and licences whenever they copy works in copyright. This includes photocopying books and journals, as well as downloading electronic publications and pages from ondine databases.
Items published before 1930, reference materials, rare or damaged books may not be reproduced.
Fees: € 0,10 (A4), € 0,20 (A3)
We recommend to the user who resides outside Rome, to please verify library hours and days before travelling long distances.
