The online catalog (OPAC) includes all the materials (books, journals, theses and dissertations, documents, etc.) that the Library holds. Our collection is focused on American Studies, so it features significant holdings in American history and civilization, American literature and literary criticism, American artists, and general aspects of American culture and society, as well as international relations. 

There is also a small collection of early printed and rare books (travel writings, biographies of Christopher Columbus, etc.) from the former Library for the American Studies in Italy.

Our Library is a member of OCLC’s WorldShare system which connects to the holdings of most of the world’s libraries, and provides interlibrary loan services.

The new research system, WorldCat Discovery, is a smart tool with a user-friendly interface for tablet and/or smartphone.

A single search box retrieves results from WorldCat and a central index of 3,033 e-content collections. Database recommendations guide searchers to additional content beyond the central index to deliver access to as much of our library’s valuable licensed content as possible.
