The Center for American Studies, in collaboration with the Atlantic Council and Razom for Ukraine, and in partnership with the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy, is organizing the event: “Securing Ukraine, securing Europe: The role of defense industrial base in Ukraine’s recovery”, on July 9 at 1:15 PM.
The initiative will take place at our headquarters, located at Via Michelangelo Caetani 32.
This panel will look at the role of the defense industry in Ukraine’s recovery. Kyiv’s successful recovery will depend on a durable peace, and Western support for Ukraine’s defense industrial base (DIB) will be crucial in that effort. This event will discuss ways to best support Ukraine’s DIB, how current efforts of European and US defense firms should be adapted, the opportunities for US and European investment in Ukraine’s DIB, and how Western governments and companies can best learn from Ukraine’s experience to adjust and prepare for future needs. Speakers will include government officials from Europe and Ukraine along with senior private sector representatives.
The initiative is organized in the context of the Ukraine Recovery Conference, which is being organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and will take place in Rome on July 10 and 11.
